This Privacy Policy explains how the operator trading as Southern Red Sea collects and uses personal information through southernredsea.com and when arranging tours, transfers and activities. For questions or privacy requests, contact southernredsea.explore.egypt@gmail.com or WhatsApp +20 114 785 0354.
1. Information we collect
- Identity and contact data, such as name, email address, telephone number, country and billing details.
- Booking data, including programme, dates, passenger numbers, selected currency, price, accommodation or pickup details and special requests.
- Information you choose to provide about accessibility, health, dietary or safety needs. Please provide only what is necessary for the activity.
- Payment and transaction data. Stripe processes full card details; we receive payment status, transaction identifiers and limited card information such as brand and last digits.
- Technical data, such as IP address, device/browser information, pages viewed, security logs and cookie choices.
- Messages, enquiries, complaints and records of customer support.
2. Why we use information and our lawful bases
- To provide a quote, take payment and perform a booking: necessary to take steps at your request and perform our contract.
- To coordinate guides, transport, vessels, accommodation and attractions: performance of the contract and our legitimate interest in delivering the booked service safely.
- To keep financial and booking records and respond to authorities: compliance with legal obligations.
- To prevent fraud, secure the website, manage availability and resolve disputes: our legitimate interests in protecting customers and the business.
- To handle safety, accessibility or health information: your explicit consent where required, vital interests in an emergency, or another basis permitted by law. You may withdraw consent, although this can affect whether an activity can be delivered safely.
- To send marketing: consent where required. You can unsubscribe at any time. Service messages about an existing booking are not marketing.
3. Who receives information
We share only what is reasonably necessary with:
- Stripe and WooCommerce payment and commerce services;
- hosting, email, security, analytics and website-support providers;
- guides, drivers, vessel operators, accommodation providers, attraction operators and other suppliers delivering your programme;
- professional advisers, insurers, banks and competent public authorities where legally required; and
- a buyer or successor if the business is reorganised, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection safeguards.
We do not sell personal information.
4. International transfers
A booking may require information to be accessed or processed in the United Kingdom, Egypt and other countries in which service or technology providers operate. Where UK data-protection law requires a transfer safeguard, we use an adequacy regulation, approved contractual safeguards or another lawful mechanism, together with proportionate security measures.
5. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purpose collected. Booking, payment and accounting records are normally retained for up to 6 years after the relevant transaction, or longer where law or an active claim requires it. Abandoned checkout holds expire automatically. Routine enquiries and support records are reviewed and deleted when no longer needed. Security logs and cookies are kept for shorter operational periods according to their purpose.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Essential cookies operate the basket, selected currency, selected language, security and checkout and cannot be disabled through a consent preference where they are strictly necessary. The srs_language cookie remembers the language you selected; translated pages are served directly by Southern Red Sea. Any non-essential analytics or marketing technology should be used only with the consent required by applicable law. Browser settings can delete or block cookies, but blocking essential cookies may prevent booking, translation and payment.
7. Security
We use access controls, encrypted HTTPS connections, software updates, limited staff access and payment processing provided by Stripe. No internet service is completely risk-free, so please contact us promptly if you suspect misuse of your information.
8. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal information, object to certain processing, receive portable data, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful use. You may also object to direct marketing at any time.
Send a request to southernredsea.explore.egypt@gmail.com. We may need to verify identity. If UK data-protection law applies and you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. You may also contact the regulator in your country.
9. Children
The website is not intended for children to make bookings independently. A parent, guardian or authorised adult should provide information for a child included in a booking and should avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive details.
10. Automated decisions
We do not use personal information to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means. Automated availability rules may temporarily hold or reject an unavailable date but do not profile you.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as services, providers or law change. The current version and update date will remain published on this page.
