Overview

Spend a full night aboard a boat amid the Sataya coral reefs, sleep to the sound of the waves, and wake up surrounded by the protected lagoon known as the House of Dolphins.

Departure is from Hamata port, south of Marsa Alam. The two-day format adds sunset and early-morning snorkeling opportunities when the lagoon is at its calmest.

Day 1, 07:00 — Hotel pickup and air-conditioned transfer from your Marsa Alam hotel to Hamata port (roughly two hours, depending on the hotel).

Day 1, 10:30 — Cabin and equipment assignment, safety briefing, departure, then approximately two hours sailing south to Sataya Reef.

Day 1, 13:00 — First guided snorkeling session inside the calm lagoon, followed by freshly prepared lunch on board.

Day 1, 16:00 — Second guided snorkeling session at another point of the reef.

Day 1, 18:30 — Sunset from the deck, dinner prepared by the crew, and overnight stay aboard the boat.

Day 2, 05:45 — Dawn snorkeling session during the quiet morning period when the dolphins return to their daily activity.

Day 2, 08:00 — Breakfast on board, a final swim if time allows, then return sailing to Hamata.

Important information

Sataya Reef is approximately 45 km long. No previous experience is required; the guide explains how to use the snorkeling equipment before every session. Bring swimwear, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, a light jacket for the evening, and a waterproof camera if desired.
